Volunteer

We are gearing up for another year of the Emily Schindler triathlon and we need your help! If you would like to volunteer at the event we have a variety of positions that need to be filled. Complete the form and we will get back to you shortly. Thank you for helping us make this event possible. All volunteers will receive a volunteer shirt and food thought out morning. Click below to sign up!

Positions:

Check In

Bag Giver (6:00 AM – 8:30 AM) – As the athletes come up to the table you will find their name on the paper. Once you find their name ask the participant their estimated swim time for the swim leg. Assign them the appropriate swim lane based on their estimated swim time by placing a colored sticker on their bag. Hand them the bag that matched with their race number.

Lane Giver (6:00 AM – 8:30 AM) – Give the athletes a lane number and swimmer number based on their estimated swim time.

Food (6:00 AM – 8:30 AM) – Hand out food to all the athletes, volunteers and spectators.

Pool

Pool Timers (6:45 AM – 9:00 AM) – Will start a stopwatch when the athlete starts the swim. At the end of the swim will stop the watch and record time on clipboard under swim time. Along with the swim time you will need to look up at the scoreboard and record the time the persons finished. The highlighted cells are the information you must write down.

Pool Deck Marshals (6:45 AM – 9:00 AM)- It is your job to make sure that once an athlete leaves the pool deck he does not came back in through that back pool door. In order to maintain a good traffic flow on the pool deck we need that door to be one way.

B+A Trail

Crossing Marshals (7:00 AM – 11:30 AM) – It is your job to stand at the entrance to the trail and control how many spectator and athlete return from the trail. We want to limit the amount of time the road has to be closed.

Computer Ops (7:00 AM – 11:00 AM) – Will run the computer timing systems.

Bike Timer (7:00 AM – 10:30 AM) – Will record the time from the clock when the athlete crosses the start and finish lines. The highlighted cells are the information you must write down

Run Timer (7:30 AM – 11:00 AM)– Will record the time from the clock when the athlete crosses the start and finish lines. The highlighted cells are the information you must write down

Trail Marshals (7:10 AM – 10:30 AM) – Check off the athletes as they pass you on the trail to ensure their safety. At Hoyle Lane, Asquithview Lane, Glen Oban Dr, Severn Way, please help the athletes cross the road safety. If you are at a turnaround point (Boulters Way, Whites Rd) hand out water that you will be supplied
